Survey shows strong support for local water district

The survey results say 71-percent of property owners prefer to form a local public water district to manage the basin, rather than have the county or state manage it. Results are based on voluntary responses from 231 landowners. The margin of sampling error is ±6 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, according to the organization.
The survey was conducted May 28 to June 15, 2015. The complete survey, with the response percentages to each question is here.
Survey details: The County Assessors roll was used to identify properties within the proposed district boundaries. Where multiple people showed as owners of a property, only one survey request was sent. An owner or owners of multiple properties only received one survey. The survey software allows recipients to respond once to the survey and prevents them from forwarding it to others.
Hmmmmmm…..I'm in the area of the proposed district and didn't see any questionnaire in my mailbox or email box. How did they get emails for the landowners? The meeting at the Warbirds Museum a few months ago certainly did not reflect 71% postitve for formation of a district. I question the source information for this article.
Interesting as I did not receive one either
I'm adding my name to the list of home owners that did not get a survey. Looking over the questions they are written to be very confusing. How many read them carefully??? I do not hear many who are for a water district on the east side.
Didn't get a survey
If people are supporting a proposed new water district, then either they don't know all the facts or questions were manipulated. BTW, I also didn't get a survey.
So, out of 2000 emails sent for the survey, only 231 responded. And that means we are in favor of THEIR district??? Seriously? Don't think I want to be manipulated by a district that can't even be honest about a survey.
We did not get a survey. We are in the basin. And we are NOT in favor of yet another level of bureaucracy who will further tax us to manage a basin that is already being managed!
No survey received at our house either.
No surveys were sent to landowners by regular mail. If you didn’t receive an email with the survey it’s because we were unable to find an email address to match with your name and home address on the County Assessor Roll. If you would like to receive information or surveys we may do in the future, please leave your email address on our website. Thank you all for your interest in our survey.

I recieved no email.
Nor I.
Please excuse my ignorance. I am trying to understand. How is it being managed already? By whom?
Please tell us all the facts so we won't be manipulated.
What was the consensus of the Warbirds meeting? Was there one,? Or divergence of opinion? Whose interests are being represented here? Who is behind CALM? What do you think?
Interesting. I live on the East side of the Sallinas and farm 80 acres. What reasons do my neighbors give? What reasons do you give?
Pearl Munak If you google, PR-win, you can get all the information you need regarding these "water wars." Paso Robles Water Integrity Network is made up of concerned citizens fighting to protect our water rights underneath the land we own. At the present time, the County Board of Supervisors is responsible for making decisions regarding our water. But a new water district board is being proposed, a whole new level of costly "water management". As a property owner over the basin, I will be voting NO to any new governmental regulatory bureaucracy.
No survey delivered here. I am very concerned.
1 mile East coming West, of my 5 acres. El Pomar Junction, S. Resnick (Roll Ent.) , and J. Lohr. My home was built before 1921, Way before the vineyards here. From Excellent water to hot, bubbly, sulfur H20. No irrigation done here. Where is a report of all wells that have gone dry or needed attention and the numbers of new vineyards since 2010, I want to see the impact that vineyards have had on our basin and the rural families that only purchased acreage to raise their families and now have well issues and more than not, don't have financial resources as the vineyard owners to at least have H20 to drink or bathe. How many vineyards have acres of ponds lined in plastic Filled with water? S. Resnick has 2. 5 acres ponds full, my property would fit in 1 of them. Why do I need a permit to install a new hot water heater and how did he get away with his ponds with no land use permit or County Involvement? Is SLO County more concerned about revenue derived from the Wine Industry, while the Hang residents out to Dry ? ! Bewildered, Untrusting of our Any governing enity that is involved that has not lived in N. County long enough to remember this area has always been Dry Farmed, where did they think all the H20 would come from without hurting the rural families, the basin, even before this extreme drought. Wine grapes are not table grapes. The growing of Wine Grapes should not be considered Agriculture, Wine is a Luxury Item, should have a Luxury Tax, as well as any land used to grow wine grapes be reclassified Not Ag land, restrictions on Well and Pumps, etc.
From my kitchen window I see a new well being drilled NW of my home. Directly behind my home TWO homes have had dry wells for over 1 yr. And are having H20 trucked in while vineyard pumps within 1 mile to the East have been running ALL night long for the last 4 nights as they did last week.
