Suspect wanted in stabbing case

–The Paso Robles Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance locating Lucio Merino Cervantes, a 24-year old Paso Robles resident. Cervantes is suspected of stabbing another Paso Robles man during a fight on Feb. 17, 2018.

Twin Cities Community Hospital staff notified officers about the stabbing Saturday night, around 8:20PM, when the victim arrived for treatment. The victim and witnesses told investigators that Cervantes stabbed the victim while several men fought in front of a liquor store along the 3300 block of Spring St. earlier that evening.

Witnesses said Cervantes fled the scene, with two other unidentified males, in a dark colored sedan. Currently, this event does not appear to be gang related. However, investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding this incident to determine what lead up to the fight.
