Submitted by Coach Michael Sauret
–On what seemed like the first sunny day of swim season, Paso Robles took on Atascadero High School at the Municipal Pool in Paso. With only four legal lanes to swim in the meet was hard fought on both sides. Senior Mackenzie Raymond qualified for her third individual event for CIF by posting a 2:27.14 but was just touched out by teammate Abigail Springer in the 200 IM Freshman Holly DiSimone nearly broke the 20-year-old 100 Fly record by posting a 59.57 and was second in the 50 Free. Following the 50 Free the 9 Seniors on the team were recognized by their peers. Swimmers: Emily Christian, Mackenie Raymond, Aleah Russell, Elijah Mathisen, Ethan Moore, Carson Weide; and Divers: Ethan Carmen, Cole Engstrom, Cori Southward.
After the break there were breakout swims from the Varsity Boys 400 Free Relay that lowered the CIF qualifying time to a 3:39.22, and Sophomore Elijah Hanauer had a season best time winning the 100 Fly at 1:04.04.
Final score for the meet was:
Varsity Girls Paso 84, Atascadero 12; Varsity Boys Paso 63, Atascadero 35; JV Girls Paso 67, Atascadero 12; JV Boys Paso 65, Atascadero 8.
