Teen carjacking/robbery suspect arrested in Atascadero 

Teen carjacking/robbery suspect arrested in Atascadero –A 14-year-old juvenile was arrested for carjacking, robbery, felony evading an officer, and resisting/obstructing/delaying an officer Saturday, according to the Atascadero Police Department. 

On Saturday at approximately 12:20 p.m., the police department responded to the 7400 block of Santa Ysabel Avenue regarding a report of a stolen vehicle. In contacting the victim and witnesses, it was learned a suspect had robbed the person of personal property and taken their vehicle after brandishing a weapon. Two victims were treated for pepper spray exposure by personnel from the Atascadero Fire Department.

While still investigating the incident, Atascadero officers located the vehicle being driven in the 4600 block of Sycamore Road. A short vehicle pursuit ensued and the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into the Salinas Riverbed. The suspect was captured shortly after.

A 14-year-old juvenile was arrested and transported to the Juvenile Services Center in San Luis Obispo. Charges included carjacking, robbery, felony evading an officer, and resisting/obstructing/delaying an officer.
