Update: Teen reported missing from Morro Bay found safe

–Emily Taylor, a 16-year-old from Morro Bay who went missing earlier this month, has been found safe and has returned home, according to a Facebook post from the family on the page they created for her disappearance.

The family released the following statement,

Thanks in part to the media, the family’s search efforts and the public sharing her flyer, Emily Taylor is home safe tonight with her family.

“Praise the Lord- Emily has returned to us on her own, safe and sound,” said Emily’s parents. “Our family has been through a lot and we have much work to do to be whole again. We thank each and every one of you for your posts, shares, help, support and most of all love and prayers. We are asking everyone to respect our privacy as we work through this time of healing.”

Emily Taylor was last seen July 3 in Morro Bay

–On July 4, at approximately 12:10 p.m., the Morro Bay Police Department was dispatched to a report of a 16 year old missing/runaway female Juvenile identified as Emily Elizabeth Taylor of Morro Bay.

Taylor was last seen by family members the night of July 3 at her residence. Emily is believed to be carrying a large black duffle bag, wearing a yellow rain jacket, leggings and possibly a teal down vest. The Morro Bay Police Department is asking for the public’s help in their investigation to bring Taylor home.
