On Friday, at about 4:52 p.m., the Paso Robles Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team Detectives made a traffic stop on a vehicle for a mechanical violation. Detectives contacted the driver, who was a 17 year old Hispanic male that did not have a driver’s license.

As the vehicle was to be towed for the traffic violation, the juvenile was asked to step out of the vehicle. Detectives noticed a large object in the juvenile’s pants pocket, and when asked, the juvenile admitted the object was heroin, according to a police report. The object was removed and it was discovered to be one ounce of black tar heroin, with a street value of approximately $2,200, police report. It was also discovered that the juvenile was in possession of $648 in cash.

The juvenile was taken into custody for felony violations of possession of narcotics for sales, and transportation of narcotics. The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Services Center where he was booked into custody. The suspect’s name is not being released because he is a juvenile.
