CHP recovers stolen vehicle at local Motel 6 in Atascadero
–Officers from Templeton office of California Highway Patrol helped to recover a stolen vehicle on Friday.
The victim was reportedly in the emergency room at Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton when she realized an individual who had walked by may have taken the keys to her 2016 Ford Fiesta. When the victim went outside she observed that her vehicle was not in the parking lot.
CHP arrived at the hospital within a few minutes and the investigating officer determined that the suspect had been in the emergency room the previous evening. After determining the likely suspect, a check with local law enforcement agencies revealed the female suspect had recently provided a residential address at the Motel 6 in Atascadero.

Personnel from the Atascadero Police Department, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriffs Office, and CHP located the suspect in a room at the hotel. The vehicle keys and several personal items from within the victim’s vehicle were located in the hotel room.
The suspect, identified as Eliana Saltaerilli. She was into custody without further incident and transferred to San Luis Obispo County Jail. The victim responded to the motel and retrieved her vehicle and personal items
