Templeton Eagles girls softball team beats Morro Bay
–After giving up an unearned run in the first, the Templeton Eagles softball team trailed the Morro Bay Pirates until the 4th inning. Then their hitting erupted for seven runs in the final three innings. They won 7-1 to improve to 16-0 for the season.
Junior Ashley Daugherty pitched a complete game and struck out the side in the final inning to seal the victory.
Freshman Isabella Backer went 2-4 with a single and a double. Her hit in the fourth sparked the Eagles’ rally. Backer is now hitting .400 for the year.
The Eagles host Lompoc (6-1) at 4 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
