Templeton Fire plans live fire training burn
Visible smoke expected during training operation
– Templeton Fire & Emergency Services announced it will conduct a live fire training exercise on Jan. 25 at 1400 South Main Street.
The training is scheduled to take place from approximately 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will involve Templeton firefighters along with neighboring agencies. According to the department, the exercise is designed to provide realistic live fire training opportunities.
Training evolutions will include interior fire attack, vertical ventilation, search and rescue, rapid intervention crew operations focused on firefighter survival, and salvage and overhaul operations.
The department stated the training burn has been approved by the Air Pollution Control District and poses no threat to neighboring businesses or residences. A visible smoke column and drifting smoke are expected throughout the day.
Access to the site will be limited to fire personnel only during the training operation.
Templeton Fire & Emergency Services stated the training is intended to enhance firefighter safety and operational readiness and thanked the community for its understanding.
