Templeton High School Athletes of the Week

Isabella Cowne

Isabella Cowne

Templeton High School Softball

Player: Isabella Cowne
Sport: Softball
Grade: 11th
Coach’s comment: Izzy Cowne is our Eagle softball player of the week. Izzy is the spark that every team needs. She makes the routine plays as our shortstop and comes up with the big plays when the team needs them. On offense, she leads the way, always putting pressure on the defense with her consistency and base running. She is one of our team leaders who never fails to show up. – Coach Keith Swank

Max Duenow

Templeton High School Golf

Player: Max Duenow
Sport: Golf
Grade: 12th
Coach’s comment: Max is returning to the THS Golf team as a senior. After last season was cut short, he missed out on a chance to compete for the Ocean League Medalist honors, but that hasn’t deterred him. Instead of slowing down, he has taken advantage of the off-season to continue taking lessons, competing in AJGA youth golf tournaments, and has even taken a job at a local golf course to allow himself to practice in his spare time. Max is a leader on the team and is frequently found helping his teammates when they are struggling or trying to learn a new skill or shot. As his coach, I look forward to seeing Max move forward in his quest to be the best golfer in the league. – Coach Scott Cramer

Coach’s comment: This week I honestly cannot single out any one player to give the THS Boys’ Soccer Athlete of the Week. In my eyes every player has been the Athlete of the Week. Watching all of them go through the rapid process of being sure they have “Athletic Clearance”, adapting to Covid 19 protocols, which include Daily Health Screenings, physical distancing, wearing masks at all times, and deciding if they can and wish to participate in multiple sports has been impressive. So my Athlete of the Week is our whole Boys’ Soccer program which includes our AD Joe Farley and his staff. – Coach Dale Wiggins

All coaches at Templeton High School are invited to participate in Athletes of the Week to recognize students who are a standout at a recent competition, showing improvement at practices, or bringing a great attitude to the team.  See Paso Robles High School athletes here.
