Templeton reasturant provides training for developmentally disabled adults 

The Templeton Victorian home where Fig is located serves up fresh and tasty breakfast and lunch.

—Fig at Courtney’s House is a restaurant with a mission in downtown Templeton. They are passionate about serving up fresh and unique food with a purpose. Fig is located in a Victorian home, Courtney’s House, which is also a resource center for training adults with developmental disabilities.

The disabled young adults working at Fig learn many vocational, social and life skills. Inclusion is what Courtney’s House is all about, helping the young adults to receive the training they need to move up and on to more restaurant jobs. Giving people a chance to learn and grow, create better futures, and strive for independence.

The supportive help of Courtney’s House also provides social groups, art and music clubs, enrichment classes, caregiver support, coffee mornings, evening events, lecture series, and more.

Courtney’s House was made to help meet the needs of parents, caregivers, and siblings of adults with developmental disabilities by providing resources and information. Courtney’s House also does other events like weddings, business gatherings and other special events.

The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch 6 days a week, serving up wholesome, yummy food for a great cause. The dishes are mostly inspired by Mediterranean fare, but the menu also features healthy options like gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian, as well as burgers, salads, vegetables and unusual delights. Desserts are famous and raved about online. Fig is famous for using local ingredients whenever possible, and they put quality before quantity, and exceptional and friendly service foremost.
