A North County mother and son died in separate crashes on Saturday and Sunday, just hours apart.

Donna Dean Magee, 56, of Templeton, was driving a Toyota Tacoma, and for unknown reasons lost control around a curve, which caused the truck to drive off the road, California Highway Patrol reports. The truck came to a stop on the passenger side in a dry creek bed, 25 feet below the road, the report says.

Magee and her passenger, Jennifer June Molina, 44, of Paso Robles, were taken to Sierra Vista Hospital. Magee died at the hospital because of her injuries.

About 16 hours later, it was reported that Magee’s son Zackariah, or Zack Lopez, 35, of Atascadero, was involved in a fatal solo motorcycle accident on Sycamore Ave. in Atascadero. It was reported that Lopez died from injuries he suffered in the wreck, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
