Tesla Motors to offer test drive experience through wine country

– Alta Colina is teaming-up with Tesla Motors for a unique driving experience on Saturday, July 18. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. guests who have pre-registered will have an opportunity to drive the Tesla Model S sedan through the hills of the Paso Robles Adelaida District. Alta Colina will be offering a catered lunch, cold-brew coffee, ice cream and a library flight of Alta Colina wines.
The boutique winery opened its new production facility and tasting room in late November 2014 and installed the wine region’s first Tesla charging station. Maggie Tillman, who runs Alta Colina alongside her father Bob Tillman said, “The goals and approach of Alta Colina and Tesla are not that different. Both owners hold legacy close and both companies are driven by passion, high quality and sustainability. We aren’t that crazy of a fit.”
The 30-minute long appointment given by a Tesla Product Specialist will give the driver an in-depth look at the technology. Reservations are required.
Pre-purchased tickets will include a tasting of Alta Colina library wines, tacos by Dean Brothers’ Smokehouse, sheep milk ice cream from Negranti’s frp, 12 -3 p.m., a cup of cold brew coffee from Jones Coffee Roasters and 10-percent off all wine purchases.
