Thanksgiving for Paso Robles returns for its 40th year
Volunteers needed to help serve 1,500 meals this year
– Thanksgiving for Paso Robles will celebrate its 40th anniversary by offering a free sit-down Thanksgiving dinner to the local community on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Centennial Park Activity Center, located at 600 Nickerson Road.
The event will serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal, including turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and pumpkin pie. The meal is free and open to all, with no reservations required. The event is made possible by volunteers and donors, who are being asked to support the event through monetary donations and volunteer assistance.
In addition to the sit-down meal, the event will offer other options for those who cannot attend in person:
- To-go meals: A limited number of to-go meals will be available for pickup from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (or until meals run out) at the Centennial Park Activity Center.
- Delivery service: A meal delivery service is available for those who are homebound or unable to attend. To request delivery, call (805) 239-4137 or visit the event website. The deadline for delivery requests is 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024. Delivery requests will be confirmed by email or phone.
Organizers are also seeking donations and volunteers. Monetary donations are needed to cover the costs of food and supplies.
Volunteers are needed for meal preparation, serving, delivery, setup, and cleanup. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to participate, with those working in the kitchen required to be 16 or older. Volunteers can sign up through the event website.
