The Alchemists’ Garden celebrates five years of creative dining

The Alchemists’ Garden is celebrating five years of buisness.

Paso Robles restaurant and bar remains dedicated to bold flavors and mixology

The Alchemists’ Garden, a downtown Paso Robles restaurant and bar known for its inventive cocktails and globally inspired menu, is celebrating five years in business. Since opening in January 2020, the establishment has become a staple for locals and visitors seeking a creative dining experience.

Local bartenders and co-owners Alexandra Pellot, Andrew Brune, Norin and Nona Grancell, Quin Cody, and Tony Bennett were inspired to open a unique and creative dining experience while attending a bartending event in Puerto Rico.

“The Alchemists’ Garden is a restaurant and bar made by dreamers to inspire creativity,” said director of hospitality Quin Cody. “We are beyond grateful for the community that we had poured ourselves into for years before, for rallying around us and pulling us through such a chaotic time, and for every day our doors have been open since.”

Global flavors defines the menu at The Alchemists’ Garden with options such as coffee rubbed skirt steak, pesto vegetable lasagna, and tiger prawns; Cody notes that “a fan favorite is our bone marrow appetizer that can be made into a luge.”

In homage to restaurant Villa Creek, which previously occupied the Pine Street building, there is a duck-centered dish on the menu.

There is an extensive cocktail menu curated by experienced mixologists with classics such as a gin and tonic, cosmopolitan, and hot toddy. The bar creates a special cocktail for each Zodiac season, with the current Aquarius cocktail containing chai infused gin, floral and fruity infusions, and a buzz bee pollen.

The Alchemists’ Garden and The Remedy offer a wide range of cocktails.

Three staple drinks include “the Alchemist Gold, which is a smoked old fashioned, the Belladonna, which is our take on the classic tiki cocktail the Painkiller, and the Nicolas Flamel, a riff on a spicy smoky margarita using chipotle and lapsang souchong,” said Cody.

The Alchemists’ Garden hosts many events throughout the year, such as tasting nights with Elijah Craig Bourbon, Fernet Branca, and Hendrick’s Gin. Their recent New Year’s Eve event, which included live music and a dance floor, included Burning Man Camp Beaverton community members.

“It was so much fun to see half The Alchemists’ Garden filled with this electric group and the other half filled with Paso locals,” Cody said.

The next event at The Alchemists’ Garden is Fashion Show – An At Her Table Event on March 4 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Participants include several local women owned businesses.

“We boast a creative menu, a beautiful view of the park, and a twelve seat molecular cocktail lounge named The Remedy tucked away in the back. Not only that, somehow The Alchemists’ Garden team members have somehow brought our dream to life making it their own and expanding the dedication to creativity,” Cody said.

The Alchemists’ Garden is located at 1144 Pine Street in Paso Robles. Open daily from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. For more information, call (805) 369 – 2444 or visit their website.
