Thousands attend 39th annual Vine Street Victorian Christmas showcase
Families enjoy music, treats, and holiday displays along Vine Street
– Thousands of people walked along Vine Street in Paso Robles Saturday night during the 39th Annual Vine Street Victorian Christmas Showcase. The evening opened with the Bearcat Marching Band marching down Vine, then the crowd flooded the street, walking north and south and admiring the decorated homes.
Along the blocked off road, visitors received free hot chocolate, popcorn, and cookies. They heard carolers, a barbershop quartet, and several other singers. Also, a brass quartet performed outside a Victorian.
A huge Volcano Rush slide allowed kids to climb up a steep slope and slide back down to street level.
Again this year, the big attraction was Scrooge, who yelled from his balcony, “Go home. You’re not welcome here.”
Kids yelled at Scrooge, “We love you, Scrooge.” Others called Santa on a direct line to the North Pole. Some posed with Santa, himself, while others met the Snow King and Queen. Many visitors admired a well-decorated Nativity scene.
The crisp, chilly weather cooperated Saturday night, making the 39th Vine Street Showcase one to remember.
