Three injured in collision at Golden Hill & Hwy 46

On Monday at about 1:20 p.m. the Paso Robles Police Department and Department of Emergency Services responded to a multi-vehicle injury traffic collision at the intersection of Highway 46 East and Golden Hill Road.

Officers determined a total of three vehicles had been involved in this collision. Two of the vehicles were turning left from northbound Golden Hill Road to westbound Highway 46 East and the other vehicle was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 46 East when this collision occurred. A total of three people were injured during this collision.

An eyewitness reported that a white car ran a red light on the highway and t-boned a silver car that was crossing the highway, the silver car then hit a gold colored Jeep Cherokee. Then the white car caught on fire, the witness said.

All three people were transported by ambulance to local hospitals with injuries ranging from moderate to life-threatening.

Police issued a special alert at 1:44 p.m. urging drivers to avoid the intersection: “Avoid 46E in the golden hill, Buena vista, union road area – traffic is backing up due to a multi vehicle accident.”

The Paso Robles police are being assisted with this ongoing investigation by personnel from the Atascadero Police Department and California Highway Patrol Air Operations Unit. Anyone with information regarding the collision is encouraged to call the Paso Robles Police Department.
