Update: Three injured in stabbing incident

Once suspect is medically cleared it is anticipated that he will be booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on several felony counts, authorities say

– The Paso Robles Police Department has shared a press release with information regarding the stabbing that occurred in Paso Robles on Sunday involving three people:

On Sunday, at approx. 7:39 p.m. hours, Paso Robles Police Officers responded to a physical fight with injuries in the 100 block of Santa Ynez.

Dispatch updated the call to advise one involved person may have been stabbed with a knife.

Officers arrived to a chaotic scene where at least four people were trying to control the suspect who was wielding a knife. The suspect was disarmed during the struggle and was detained without further incident. During the ensuing investigation, 28-year-old Carlos Artiega of Paso Robles was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. Artiega is suspected of stabbing two people of the household with a knife.

Both victims were treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Artiega was also transported to a local hospital for injuries he sustained during this incident. It is currently anticipated that after Artiega is medically cleared he will be booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on several felony counts.

Incident occurred Sunday night in Paso Robles neighborhood

– Firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement responded to a call on Sunday evening at approximately 8 p.m., regarding a reported juvenile with a stab wound on Santa Ynez Ave in Paso Robles.

The incident, involving an altercation at a residence on Santa Ynez Avenue near the intersection of San Fernando Drive, led to at least three people sustaining significant injuries. Reports say an argument at the home resulted in the stabbing and multiple other injuries.

Emergency personnel transported three individuals to nearby medical facilities via ambulances.

No further information is available at this time.
