Tickets on sale for ‘Mardi Gras Underground’ fundraiser
Fundraiser to benefit Hospice, Community Counseling Center
– On Feb. 17, the Park Ballroom in Paso Robles will be transformed into “The Big Easy” to celebrate the 3rd Annual Mardi Gras Underground fundraiser. All proceeds of this festive event will support the programs and services of two local nonprofit agencies, Hospice of San Luis Obispo County (Hospice SLO County) and Community Counseling Center. The event is open to the public and people are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as it sold out last year.
The event will include wine, beer, cocktails and food catered by Paso Robles Culinary Arts Academy under the direction of award-winning chef Gregg Wangard. Live and silent auction items will encourage competitive bidding for products and services by area sponsors. Medina Light Shows and Design will provide colorful New Orleans-style décor and DJ sounds. Guests are encouraged to arrive dressed and ready to celebrate in true Mardi Gras form in colorful masks and vibrant attire.
Tickets to the celebration are available for $55/presale and $60 at the door. Reserved Sponsor table seating is available for $450 per table and includes complimentary sparkling wine to toast the occasion.
The two benefit agencies, Hospice SLO County and Community Counseling Center, have a long history of working together to provide counseling for children, teens and adults in the community. These agencies represent a combined total of almost 90 years of service to San Luis Obispo County.
“This is our third year for a collaborative event that benefits Hospice SLO County and Community Counseling Center’s Paso Robles location and services provided to North County residents,” said Kris Kington-Barker, Executive Director of Hospice SLO County. “The growing participation in this event each year adds to the excitement and fun and makes it possible to continue these vital services in North County.”
Since 1977, Hospice of San Luis Obispo County has provided thousands of hours annually of in-home respite care, emotional support and practical assistance for those with a life-limiting illness and their families. Hospice of San Luis Obispo County offers grief counseling and support groups for those grieving the death of a loved one, no matter when the death occurred, and community response support for schools, businesses and organizations impacted by the death of a relative, friend, co-worker or student. All services are offered at no charge.
