–Best Bike Zone owners Steve and Carol Fleury will host a Tour of Paso’s Team Launch Party at their establishment on Saturday, Jan. 23 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The launch party will call attention to and provide information about the upcoming Tour of Paso Founder’s Team Challenge bike event taking place on March 12.

“This is a chance for us to bring people together, help them form teams, sign up their team members, and give them information on fundraising and team challenges,” said CSC Program Director Michelle Ogle. “Many of our teams in the past have been quite creative with their fundraising efforts and it can be a lot of fun to see what they come up with to encourage their friends to get involved.”

Paso Bike Tours owner Mike Milby will be on hand to serve up his famous Milby’s Pasta and Meatballs to launch party attendees; appetizers and desserts will also be served. Best Bike Zone and Ted Muller are the beverage sponsors for the evening.

Best Bike Zone is located at 712 Paso Robles St. in Paso Robles. For more information, call (805) 237-2453.

The Tour of Paso takes place on Saturday, March 12. All skill levels, from beginners to advanced, are offered their choice of three routes – 50, 26 and 4-miles – through the Paso Robles wine country region, all starting and ending at Niner Estates off Highway 46 West; routes will be posted at Team Launch Party.

Teams may register at the launch party for convenience. Riders pay $60 for ride entry and are required to raise a minimum of $200. In addition, there are opportunities for “virtual riders” to donate, raise funds, and receive a Tour of Paso commemorative t-shirt. Riders raising more than $500 are eligible for prizes donated by local businesses. An awards ceremony and barbecue lunch will take place at the finish line party. Individual and business sponsorship opportunities are available – various levels will receive merchandise such as t-shirts and wine, as well as name recognition, logo placement and more. Event jerseys will be on sale beginning mid-to-late February; call (805) 238-4411 for more information.

Funds raised will help provide free cancer support for patients, caregivers and loved ones throughout San Luis Obispo County.

The mission of The Cancer Support Community is to help those affected by cancer and their loved ones enhance their health and well-being by providing a professional program of emotional support as well as education in order to learn vital skills that will enable them regain control, reduce isolation and restore hope regardless of the stage of disease. Fundraisers, private donations, and sponsors enable CSC to continue its work with the local community.

Volunteers for the Tour of Paso event are needed. For more information, email michelle.ogle@twcccc.org, call (805) 238-4411 or stop by the Cancer Support Community, located at 614 13th St. in Paso Robles; open Monday through Thursday.
