Update: Traffic collision reported at Cholame Y
Update posted July 9:
– California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Seebart, has provided the following additional details regarding the collision that occurred near the Cholame Y in North County on July 5.
According to Seebart, one vehicle was in the turn pocket to make a left turn onto northbound SR-41 from eastbound SR-46, and the other vehicle was driving westbound on SR-46 just east of the “Y”. As the vehicles both approached the intersection, the vehicle turning left onto Highway-41, turned directly in front of the westbound vehicle causing the crash.
“No one was seriously injured (shockingly), with a possible broken wrist being the worst of the injuries,” said Seebart, “All of the occupants from one vehicle were from Salinas, and the other vehicle had people from Tulare. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to have been a factor, and the investigation is ongoing.”
