Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

On Saturday, April 5, at about 10:30 p.m., Paso Robles Police Department patrol units stopped a vehicle on southbound Highway 101 near Main St. in Templeton for a traffic infraction. The male driver was found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license and his vehicle was subsequently impounded.

During the search of the vehicle, 29.15 grams, over one ounce, of methamphetamine was located within the vehicle. Abel Ribera Torres, 54, of Atascadero was arrested and transported to San Luis Obispo County Jail for possession of a controlled substance for sales, a felony, transportation of a controlled substance, a felony, and driving on a suspended driver’s license, a misdemeanor.
