Transfer Day/College Night return to Cuesta

–Cuesta College’s San Luis Obispo Campus is holding two events geared toward students considering enrolling in college or transferring to a four-year university. On Monday, Nov. 2, the San Luis Obispo Campus will host University Transfer Day from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Associated Student Center, and then College Night from 5-8:45 p.m. in the Associated Student Center and Performing Arts Center.

University Transfer Day is the college’s annual one-stop-shop for Cuesta College students looking to transfer. “It’s the one opportunity for Cuesta students to meet with many university admission representatives at one time right here at Cuesta College,” said Cuesta College Counselor/Transfer Center Coordinator Blake Reed.Cuesta

Students will have the opportunity to meet with more than 40 representatives from Cal Poly, UC Berkley, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, CSU Channel Islands, CSU Northridge and many more colleges, including independent and out of state universities. Music and lunch will be provided at 11:30 a.m to the first 300 participating students.

College Night, co-hosted by Cuesta College and the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education, is geared toward local high school students and their parents who are invited to meet with representatives of nearly 70 colleges and universities from across the nation. Cuesta College staff will also be on hand to discuss and answer questions about the Cuesta Promise, the scholarship program that offers all newly graduated SLO County high school students a fee-free fall and spring semester, as well as provide information on academic programs, student services, and athletics. Attendees may also attend workshops at the Performing Arts Center (Building 7300) on topics such as admissions essays, the athletic recruitment process, and financial aid. Parking will be free in lots 1, 1A, 2, and 3.
