Transitional housing opens in Paso Robles for domestic violence survivors

from https://luminaalliance.org/Organization will mark the milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, June 25, in Paso Robles

Lumina Alliance announced the opening of the first transitional housing site in North San Luis Obispo County for survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence.

The organization will mark the milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, June 25, in Paso Robles. The event, hosted in partnership with the Paso Robles and Templeton Chamber of Commerce, will include remarks from Lumina Alliance leadership, a tour of the site, and recognition of key community partners.

The property was originally donated to Lumina Alliance in 2020 by Noreen Martin and her late husband, Tom Martin, of Martin Resorts. Their gift laid the foundation for what has now become a vital resource for survivors in the North County. Martin will attend the ceremony and offer a short speech in honor of the milestone.

MUST! Charities also will be recognized for providing a grant that supported the addition of a new housing unit and a full renovation of the entire complex.

The new site adds to Lumina Alliance’s housing options for survivors in the region. By establishing this resource in North County, Lumina Alliance aims to remove barriers for survivors seeking safety, healing, and stability closer to home.

“For too long, survivors in the North County have faced limited options for safe, local housing,” said Jennifer Adams, chief executive officer of Lumina Alliance. “This new space is a turning point. It creates a foundation for hope, independence, and lasting healing.”

Transitional housing serves as a lifeline for survivors fleeing violence, especially in areas where housing insecurity, limited resources, and isolation make it harder to escape unsafe situations. With this addition, Lumina Alliance continues its mission to support survivors and build thriving communities throughout San Luis Obispo County.
