Travel Paso announces new Executive Director

Danna Stroud.

—The Board of Directors for Travel Paso – the region’s new, not-for-profit 501c (6) destination marketing organization – is pleased to announce Danna Stroud as its inaugural Executive Director. Stroud, returns to her hometown with a wealth tourism leadership experience and a vast California network. She begins her new position on Dec. 11, 2017.

Stroud, who was born and raised in Paso Robles, and whose parents still call it home, brings to Travel Paso more than 27 years of career experience in lodging, hospitality, sales, tourism and event marketing and tourism management.

During the past 12 years, Stroud has been active in the greater Mammoth Lakes region, working with a variety of regional partners – Town of Mammoth Lakes, U.S. Forest Service, CA State Parks, National Park Services, Bureau of Land Management and tribal leaders – developing and leading successful tourism and recreation initiatives.

Her hometown pride, her experience collaborating with diverse groups and stakeholders, and her vision for the future of Paso Robles’ tourism is ultimately why the Board of Directors selected Stroud.

“Stroud is a natural fit to lead Travel Paso as our inaugural Executive Director,” said Victor Popp, Chairman of Travel Paso and General Manager of La Quinta Inn & Suites. “I’m honored that we’ve found a leader with her credentials and knowledge of our destination. I’m looking forward to working with her.”

Stroud’s vision for Travel Paso is focused on collaboration. She recognizes how tourism has grown in the past 10 years and is excited to position Paso Robles for greater success.

“I’m looking forward to working with the lodging community and the area’s key attractions to position Paso Robles for the next chapter as a premier destination,” said Stroud, Executive Director of Travel Paso. “The diversity of assets in the community are moving Paso Robles into a year-around destination. I’m excited and honored to lead the organization at this critical milestone.”

Working with the new Marketing Committee, Board of Directors and other tourism partners, Stroud will lead Travel Paso, the destination named Best Wine Country Town by Sunset Magazine in 2016.
