Truck and trailer combo reported to have jackknifed on Highway 1

–A truck/trailer combo was reported to be blocking both lanes of Highway 1, north of Ragged Point just inside Monterey County yesterday, with the rear trailer tires hanging off of the road over the side. A big rig tow was sent to tow the truck and trailer and the roadway was reopened yesterday afternoon.

The truck was too long, and it was not legal for him to be on that road, according to CHP.  The driver was issued a citation from CHP for being on that road, along with a $4,500.00 tow bill.

Due to poor radio service and lack of cell service updates are not yet available, according to California Highway Patrol. A request for more information is pending.
