Truss Wines opens new tasting room in Paso Robles

Estate tasting room features vineyard and wetland pond views

Truss Wines has introduced a new tasting space at its estate in the Paso Robles Willow Creek District. The winery said the redesigned tasting room combines its estate wines with an updated hospitality experience featuring indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the vineyard and a wetland pond.

“We set out to amplify the heritage of this estate while showcasing the wines and landscape in new and fresh ways.” said owner-winemaker Kyle Jury. “The new space is also functionally designed around the Truss ethos of service, creating an environment where you feel welcome, inspired and transported.”

The tasting room is located on Arbor Road in westside Paso Robles. Tasting flights cost $20, with the fee waived for guests who purchase three bottles. Reservations are recommended, although walk-in visitors are welcome. The tasting room is open Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to the winery, the tasting room remodel was influenced by Jury’s interest in architecture. The space includes two indoor tasting areas and outdoor lounge seating overlooking the vineyard and pond.

The winery said the tasting room does not include a traditional standing tasting bar. Instead, guests are seated throughout the property to encourage longer visits and interaction with winery staff.

General Manager and Hospitality Director Micah Park oversees the guest experience, and Jury also participates in hosting visitors.

“We believe in showing up ourselves and providing best-in-class hospitality,” Park said. “Our goal is to never be unavailable.”

The 26-acre estate traces its history to 2002, when former National Football League player and winemaker Terry Hoage planted the first vines on the property. Hoage’s TH Estate Winery became known for Rhône variety wines produced in Paso Robles.

After retiring from the wine industry, Hoage and his wife, Jennifer, transferred stewardship of the estate to Jury and his partners.

Jury and his wife, Brittany, established the Truss label in 2022, initially focusing on chardonnay and pinot noir wines. The winery said its first estate-grown Rhône variety wines are being released this spring and summer.

“Our aim is to make a unique mark on Paso Robles with both our wines and visitor experience,” Jury said.
