As part of their U.S. tour, True North will headline the Songwriters At Play showcase, taking place from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16 at Sculpterra Winery, 5015 Linne Road in Paso Robles. Special guests include SoCal country-rocker Duane Mark.

Sweden’s Eva Hillered and Patrick Rydman met up with Californian Janni Littlepage at the 2012 Copenhagen Songwriters Festival in Denmark. Their trio performance was so well-received, they decided to tour together in the U.S. as “True North”. Their show includes co-written songs, and individual material arranged for three-part harmonies, accompanied by guitars, piano, dulcimer and percussion.

Littlepage wrote “A Rain Of Angels” for country singer Lila McCann’s platinum debut album. Janni released her own new album, “Strange Angels” in Scandinavia, Europe and the U.K. She lives in the Monterey area. Hillered lives in Stockholm, has made seven solo albums and she tours in Scandinavia, USA, and Germany. Rydman has appeared on many recordings, including the Amanda vocal ensemble, with several international tours and Swedish Grammy nominations to their credit. He’s also been a vocal soloist with several big bands and orchestras throughout Sweden, produced other artists and written music for stage and radio.

Songwriters At Play holds showcases every Sunday afternoon from 1-4 p.m. at Sculpterra Winery, 5015 Linne Road, Paso Robles, (805) 226-8881. The showcase includes one featured act and others playing 4-song sets. A tip jar is passed during the featured set, otherwise no cover; all ages are welcome.
