Twin Cities seeking members to serve on Patient and Family Advisory Council

–Twin Cities Community Hospital is seeking community members to serve on its Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC). The council is instrumental in sharing perspectives, feedback and solutions in an effort to improve the overall patient experience.
“The Patient and Family Advisory Council is a vital component to Twin Cities Community Hospital,” said Carrie Vucasovich, RN, Director of Patient Experience at Twin Cities. “We believe partnering with patients and families directly improves the planning, delivery and evaluation of healthcare, which is the key to excellent patient care. Input and involvement from the communities we serve provides important feedback to our programs and services.”
The council is comprised of members from the Northern San Luis Obispo County communities and acts as a communication bridge between hospital staff and the local community.
Council members have the opportunity to offer advice, information and recommendations on planning, policies and procedures to the Twin Cities team. Their input provides the leadership team with an enhanced understanding of how to improve quality, program development, service excellence, communications, patient safety, facility design, patient and family education, staff orientation and education, and patient/family satisfaction and loyalty.
The Twin Cities Community Hospital PFAC meets on the third Wednesday of every even month from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Founders Pavilion Conference Room. Members are expected to serve a two-year term with potential to renew or step down at the end of the term
PFAC members are selected based upon the following criteria:
• Ability to represent patient care experience
• Willingness to work collaboratively and in an advisory role
• Good listening skills
• Ability to interact well with differing groups of people and differing opinions
• Respect of others’ perspectives
• Positive, constructive attitude
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
