Twin Cities to host health insurance enrollment tour bus stop

Covered California to host stop at Twin Cities on Nov. 4Twin Cities Hospital

–Covered California Executive Director Peter V. Lee and the Covered California tour bus will roll into Twin Cities Community Hospital on Wednesday, Nov. 4, as part of a special statewide effort to help almost 750,000 uninsured Californians sign up for health insurance before the enrollment deadline. Certified enrollment counselors will be available at no charge to assist enrollees.

The event, from 10 a.m. to noon, is the only Central Coast visit on the Covered California bus’s planned 20-stop statewide tour designed to encourage the significant number of California residents who still have not signed up for now-mandatory health coverage to do so by the Jan. 31, 2016 enrollment deadline. Lee will speak at the event.

Uninsured Central Coast residents who attend can receive help in determining whether they are eligible for financial assistance to cover all or part of their health insurance cost. There is no obligation to sign up. Counselors also will be able to assist them in comparing health insurance plans and benefits, finding health insurance that saves them money on their medical costs, and enrolling easily, if they find a health plan that’s right for them.

“Twin Cities Community Hospital is proud to partner with Covered California to help uninsured Central Coast residents find health coverage that’s right for them and their families,” said Mark Lisa, CEO of Twin Cities Community Hospital. “And our physicians, nurses and staff are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to every patient who comes through our doors.”

Twin Cities Community Hospital is located at 1100 Las Tablas Road, in Templeton. The event is open to the public and free refreshments will be served.
