Two arrested for armed robbery 

–On Sunday at approximately 10:30 p.m., San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a call for service from a resident in the 1800 Block of Louise Ln., in Nipomo who reported they had just been robbed at knifepoint. The caller provided a description of suspects and the suspect vehicle, which had just fled the scene.

Less than 10 minutes later, responding deputies spotted a vehicle matching the description in the area of Riverside Rd. and Division St., Nipomo. The occupants of this vehicle attempted to flee when spotted by Deputies, which resulted in the suspect vehicle getting stuck in a field. The male occupants of the vehicle ran away. One male suspect was taken into custody immediately by Deputies. A second male suspect was taken into custody a short time later with the assistance of Sheriff’s Office K9 “D.J.” and CHP Helicopter 70.

Two male suspects are in custody on felony charges of PC 211 – robbery, 18-year-old Sergio Arturo Flores and 20-year-old Wilson Ricardo Cortez of Santa Maria. Personal property taken from the victims by the suspects was subsequently recovered. No injuries were reported by the victims. This is an active ongoing Sheriff’s Office investigation.
