Two arrested on drug charges after driver attempts to flee traffic stop
–Paso Robles Police arrested two women for various drug charges and evading arrest after driver Ashley Pulford attempted to flee a traffic stop on Friday, police report.
On Friday at approximately 1 p.m., a Paso Robles police officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a white Nissan on Highway 46 East. When the vehicle pulled over, the driver waited for the officer to exit his vehicle and then drove off at a high rate of speed. Shortly after, she collided with another vehicle and eventually came to a stop.
The driver, Ashley Pulford, was arrested for felony DUI w/ injury, felony evading arrest, and felony hit and run. Officers located approximately 100 grams of suspected fentanyl, $2,120 cash, and packaging inside the vehicle. Additional charges of felony drug sales were added to Pulford’s charges along with her three felony warrants. The passenger, Maria Romo, was arrested for misdemeanor under the influence. Pulford was booked into county jail. The two victims inside the vehicle they had collided with were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
