Update: UB40 Vina Robles concert cancelled

Update posted July 24: UB40 have cancelled their Vina Robles Amphitheatre date, scheduled for October 13.

Original story posted July 6: – UK reggae/pop ensemble UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue have confirmed their first extensive North American tour in eight years which includes a stop at the Vina Robles Amphitheatre on October 13 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Saturday, July 25 at 10 a.m.

The band’s principle songwriter and vocalist Ali Campbell will be joined by percussionist/trumpeter/vocalist Astro and keyboardist Mickey Virtue, all of whom are founding members of the original UB40. Known for their exuberant stage show, UB40 will perform all the hits such as, “Red, Red Wine,” “(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love,” “Kingston Town,” “One In Ten” and “Food For Thought.”

Concertgoers will also be treated to new material from the band’s latest album release ‘Silhouette.’ Recorded in London’s RAK Studios, ‘Silhouette’ is a mix of new songs and “reggaefied” cover versions of classics by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Chi-Lites and others.

Formed in 1979, UB40 has earned multiple Grammy nominations and sold 70 million records.
