Umpqua Bank’s Assistant Vice President of the Central Coast Agriculture and Commercial Banking Center Ashley Ogden presents the donation to Manager of Community Engagement for Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast Laura Romano.

In celebration of Girl Scouts of the Central Coast’s work in the community, the Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation presented the organization’s leaders with a $2,500 Community Giving grant on May 7.

The grant will support Girl Scouts Cookie University (Cookie U), a unique way for girls to develop a comprehensive set of financial literacy, job, and leadership skills by connecting with a diverse network of business leaders, college students, and peers, and engaging in hands-on, interactive activities centered on Girl Scouts’ annual cookie sale. Cookie U gives girls an early introduction to financial education, exploring financial concepts through experiential, learning-by-doing finance-related activities with their peers and adult role models.
