Upcoming fundraiser supports affordable housing in SLO County

Fundraiser includes silent and live auctions, wine pull

    – Tickets are now on sale for Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County’s annual Build With Us fundraising event, scheduled for Saturday, April 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Edna Valley Ranch in San Luis Obispo.

The event supports Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County’s housing programs and will include live music by the Ryan Delmore Band, dinner by Trumpet Vine Catering, silent and live auctions, a wine pull, and a program highlighting the organization’s work. Neil Herbert, a former local television news anchor, will serve as emcee.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will support Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County programs, including new home construction for local families and home preservation services. The home preservation program assists low-income homeowners, including seniors and veterans, by providing critical repairs, accessibility upgrades, exterior improvements, and future homeowner education.

“At Habitat SLO, we believe everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home,” said Anthony Overton, chief executive officer of Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County. “Build With Us brings our community together around that belief and helps turn compassion into action for local families who need it most.”

Tickets and sponsorships are available at habitatslo.org. Community members and businesses may also support the event by donating items or experiences for the silent or live auction.

Early event sponsors include Ashley & Vance Engineering, Central Coast Community Energy, Edward Jones – Emery Luper, Hamachai Design, Mechanics Bank, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, San Luis Obispo County Credit Union, Two Knights Insurance, and T&S Structural.

“Build With Us is our signature fundraiser and one of our favorite nights of the year because it brings our mission to life,” said Dawn Smith, director of development for Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County. “Whether people support our work financially or volunteer alongside us on build sites, they truly build with us—and help strengthen families right here in San Luis Obispo County.”

Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County is a nonprofit organization that builds and rehabilitates homes throughout San Luis Obispo County. The organization began building homes locally in 2003 and has completed 26 homes from Cambria to Grover Beach. Since 1997, it has built, repaired, and rehabilitated houses across the county.
