Vandalized line causes loss of water service in Templeton

-Special from the Soaring Eagle Press-

TempletonLate Wednesday morning, a water line at the meter connection was damaged, spewing volumes of water that ran along the west side Crocker north of Eighth Street and filled the gutters around Templeton Park.

Templeton Community Services District (TCSD) crews were dispatched immediately to fix the breach. Residents in an apartment complex served by the line were notified of the problem and the need to turn off their water while repairs were made.

TCSD General Manager Jeff Briltz and Utilities Supervisor Jay Short were also on site to assess the damage and determine the cause. According to Briltz, the water line had been vandalized.

Repairs were completed in a couple of hours, and water service was restored to the residents of the apartment complex.
