Vegan cheese innovator coming to Central Coast for benefit events

Miyoko Schinner, author, and founder of the plant-based cheese brand Miyoko’s Creamery, is releasing a new cookbook, ‘The Vegan Creamery.’
Events are organized in partnership with The Vreamery
– Miyoko Schinner, author, and founder of the plant-based cheese brand Miyoko’s Creamery, will host two events on Sept. 21 in Paso Robles and on a private ranch in support of her latest cookbook, The Vegan Creamery, and to benefit Freedom Farms Animal Sanctuary.
The events are organized in partnership with The Vreamery, an online marketplace for artisan vegan cheese. Both gatherings aim to promote plant-based cuisine and raise awareness for animal welfare.
The first event, a VIP experience, will be held at The Vreamery in Paso Robles. It includes an opportunity for guests to meet Schinner, sample recipes from The Vegan Creamery prepared by The Vreamery, receive a personalized signed copy of the cookbook, and take home a curated gift bag. Schinner’s earlier book, Artisan Vegan Cheese, inspired The Vreamery founder, Jennifer Golden, to begin producing handcrafted vegan cheese, leading to the eventual formation of The Vreamery Artisan Vegan Cheese Company.
The second event will take place at a historic ranch formerly owned by Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher, now repurposed as Freedom Farms Animal Sanctuary. The event includes a keynote talk by Schinner, a signed copy of the cookbook, a guided tour of the sanctuary, and curated vegan gifts.
Proceeds from both events will benefit Freedom Farms, a sanctuary under In Defense of Animals. The facility, led by Dr. Marilyn Kroplick, is home to rescued cows, equines, deer, ducks, and peacocks.
