Vegetation fire reported on Sulphur Springs Road 

–On Friday, May 5, 2019 at approximately 5:54 p.m., the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services responded to 3200 Sulphur Springs Road for a reported vegetation fire.

The first fire engine arrived at scene within approximately five minutes. The initial crew reported several trees and shrubs burning in the riverbed.

Two fire engines, one squad, and one battalion chief from Paso Robles responded. Under the city’s automatic aid agreement, two fire engines and one battalion chief from CAL FIRE/SLO County immediately responded. Additional assistance was provided by the Paso Robles Police Department.

The fire was contained at approximately 6:30 p.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Department of Emergency Services would like to remind residents that May 1 was the deadline for hazardous fuel (weed) abatement.
