Vegetation fire contained Saturday near Paso Robles Landfill
Fire crews contain 11-acre blaze
– A vegetation fire was reported at 4:14 p.m. on Aug. 31 at 9000 Highway 46 East in Paso Robles, according to a press release from Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services.
The first arriving unit found an approximately two-acre fire burning in grass with a moderate rate of spread, threatening the Paso Robles Landfill. The fire was fully contained to 11 acres by 4:45 p.m. No structures were damaged, and no firefighter injuries were reported.
Three fire engines and one battalion chief from Paso Robles responded to the incident. Under the city’s automatic aid agreements, additional resources were provided by Cal Fire/SLO County Fire, including five fire engines, two bulldozers, two crews, one air attack plane, two tankers, one helicopter, and a battalion chief.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
