Vehicle collision damages power lines

On Tuesday at approximately 4:43 a.m., San Luis Obispo Police Officers responded to a report of a non-injury traffic collision involving a single vehicle in the 1800 block of Santa Barbara. The collision damaged a power pole and multiple power lines are down at that location. PG&E, Phone and Cable companies have all responded to the area to repair the outage.

The 1800 block of Santa Barbara was shut down in both directions due to the downed power lines. The estimated re-opening of the roadway is late Wednesday afternoon or early evening due to the extent of the damage. Police sugguest drivers seek alternative routes to avoid the congestion and unnecessary delay.
