Veterans Day ceremony set at Faces of Freedom Memorial

Flyover, barbecue to highlight event– The Atascadero Veterans Memorial Foundation will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Faces of Freedom Memorial on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. The memorial is located at the corner of Portola Road and Highway 41 (Morro Road). Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs as there will be a limited number available.
Following the ceremony, the Kiwanis will offer a barbecue featuring tri-tip sandwiches and hot dogs.
The event will feature a flyover by the Estrella Warbirds, a color guard from Cal Poly accompanied by the Pipes and Drums, and performances of the national anthem and Taps. A wreath will be laid in honor of all veterans, and several local veterans will be presented with a Quilt of Valor.
