Veterans museum to host Korean War veterans meetup in July
All those who served during the Korean War Era invited for coffee, pastries, camaraderie, and lunch
– The second annual Central Coast Korean War Veteran Meetup will take place on Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m. The Central Coast Veterans Memorial Museum invites those who served during the Korean War Era to gather for coffee, pastries, camaraderie, and lunch from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the SLO Vets Hall.
The event is hosted by the Central Coast Veterans Memorial Museum with support from American Legion Post 66, The Gary Sinise Foundation, Coastal Peaks Coffee, and American Legion Auxiliary Post 432.
The meetup will start at 10 a.m. with coffee and pastries, followed by lunch and a guest speaker at 11:30 a.m. A door prize raffle and appreciation gift bags will also be available. This is a free event for all who served during the Korean War Era. Lunch will include turkey, ham, and roast beef sandwiches with potato salad, green salad, and fresh fruit.
Coffee is sponsored by Coastal Peaks Coffee, pastries by House of Bread, and lunch is sponsored by the Gary Sinise Foundation and prepared and served by American Legion Post 66.
Veterans are encouraged to join a round table discussion to connect and share stories of their service. Attendees are also invited to bring a photo or special memento to be photographed by volunteers for the local archives of Central Coast Korean War History.

The museum’s mission is to honor and remember veterans by preserving their history, educating the public, and creating a community where veterans feel honored and appreciated.
