Video captures thieves stealing generator 

Police seek help identifying suspects in video

The Atascadero Police Department is seeking information regarding the theft of a generator from a business in Atascadero which occurred on the night of Jan. 4. It was discovered missing Jan. 5 at 7:43 a.m. During this incident a Honda 6500 generator was stolen. The generator is valued at approximately $6,000. The victimized business, El Camino Car Wash, located at 7200 El Camino Real in Atascadero, had video surveillance which captured the theft.

The 1-1/2-minute video shows one suspect moving the generator, while another suspect backs a truck up to it. Then the two of them load the generator into the bed of the pick-up truck.

The department is asking for assistance in identifying the two suspects or vehicle seen in the video. The vehicle used in the theft appears to be an older model Chevrolet/GMC step side, single cab pickup. The Atascadero Police Department can be reached at (805) 461-5051.

What a bunch of idiots, they will get caught, too bad we can't watch it on the ksby news!
