Vine Street Victorian Christmas returns Dec. 9

VineStreet2014_0207

–”Step back in time” with the 31st annual Vine Street Victorian Christmas Showcase, held on the evening of Saturday, Dec. 9, from 6 – 9 p.m. Bring the whole family to visit Vine Street to 21st Street for this annual community Christmas party tradition. Ebenezer Scrooge, the Snow Queen, Mr. & Mrs. Clause and the whole crew will be on-hand on Vine Street. Community caroling, illuminated floats, entertainers, community open houses, live music, cotton candy, free cookies and hot chocolate— it’s fun, friends and festivities! Don’t miss this sure-to-please holiday mainstay in Paso Robles!

Bring your umbrella in case of rain! No traffic will be permitted between 6–9 p.m. Motorists are cautioned to be on the lookout for pedestrians crossing roadways as they arrive and leave the event.

Within this 13-block area, homes, offices and schools are decorated and lighted. Many of the homes have entertainment such as choirs, bands, Scrooge, and the Snow King & Queen (who grant wishes), Santa’s elves, etc… on their lawns or porches. There will also be a mountain of snow for sliding and playing. There is a Santa Claus House with Santa to meet the children and throughout the route there are people giving away hot cider, hot chocolate, cookies, roasted chestnuts and popcorn. In addition there are strolling groups of carolers and people in costumes.

The event is a “Christmas present” from the Vine Street neighbors, friends and businesses, the El Paso de Robles Area Historical Society, the Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association and the City of Paso Robles.
