Vineyard management firm rebrands, expands

– Local viticulturist Kevin Wilkinson announced Sept. 16 the launch of Alterra Solutions, the new name and identity of his vineyard management and consulting firm formerly known as Coastal Vineyard Services. Wilkinson founded the company in Paso Robles in 2012.
With more than 20 years of vineyard management experience across San Luis Obispo County and California, Wilkinson said the rebrand reflects the firm’s growth and plans to expand into Santa Barbara County and other regions.
“Alterra Solutions represents the continuation of a vision I have shaped throughout my career,” Wilkinson said. “We are dedicated to cultivating vineyards of exceptional quality while creating opportunities that strengthen our team, empower our winery partners, and enrich our community. This rebrand reflects the integrity of our past and a clear direction for the future.”
Alterra Solutions has managed vineyards for wineries including Niner Wine Estates, Keplinger Wines, Epoch Estate Wines, Clos Solène, and L’Aventure. Grapes grown under its care in Paso Robles and across San Luis Obispo County have contributed to 100-point scores, Top 100 placements, winemaker of the year honors, and environmental awards.
Wilkinson continues to lead the firm with vice president Lucas Pope and director of operations Chris Hammell.
Alterra also maintains ties with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and supports organizations including the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance, SIP Certified, Dignity Health’s Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, and Lumina Alliance.
