Vineyard Professional Services announces new team members
Vineyard management company welcomes new vineyard manager, logistics manager
Jon Winstead and Linnea Norton.
–Vineyard Professional Services, Inc, a vineyard management company serving the Paso Robles wine industry, recently announced the addition of Jon Winstead to its vineyard manager team and the promotion of Linnea Norton to the newly-created role of viticulture logistics manager.
Winstead grew up in the foothills of Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley wine region. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences from Chico State, he began working for Ernest and Julio Gallo in their Sonoma County vineyards. Winstead worked throughout the Sonoma County AVA managing and developing Gallo’s various properties for nearly 10 years.
Winstead moved to Paso Robles in 2003 to manage Gallo’s Central Coast vineyards, spanning the counties of Monterey, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. Locally, he has served as vice chair and treasurer of the Central Coast Vineyard Team. His duties will include overseeing a number of winery properties and vineyards throughout the Paso Robles wine region.
Linnea Norton has worked with Vineyard Professional Services since she was a Freshman at Cal Poly studying soil science and viticulture over ten years ago. Previously, as a vineyard manager, Norton oversaw the management of many westside winery estates and worked closely with the winemaking teams and property owners to produce some of the area’s most highly-awarded wines. In the newly-created position of viticulture logistics manager, Norton will coordinate vineyard equipment and mechanical operations. In addition, she will help integrate technology suppliers and viticulture data into the company’s management practices.
