Voice of Paso to broadcast holiday events

Voice of Paso, Paso Robles’ hometown Internet radio station will once again broadcast holiday events from the downtown area according to station owner/operator Steve Martin.

The annual Christmas Parade through downtown Paso Robles will be the evening of Saturday, Dec. 1. The Vine Street Victorian Showcase, featuring lights, food, music and another parade, will be Saturday evening, Dec. 8. The Voice of Paso broadcast team will be set up at the judges’ station at 12th and Park for the parade and at 1213 Vine Street for the Showcase presentation. Check www.voiceofpaso.com for times.

“We’re committed to bringing our holiday events into the homes of everyone in our community,” said Martin, who was recently elected to a second term as Paso Robles Mayor. “This is what local radio is all about.”

The Voice of Paso gained recognition two years ago when it began broadcasting local high school sports. It started with football, but quickly expanded to cover other sports including girls volleyball, baseball, basketball, wrestling and swimming. The station started with a standard oldies music format, but even that has expanded quickly.

“We now have four streaming services,” said Martin. “We feature three music formats including Country-Western, Oldies and Jazz. The fourth stream will be dedicated to carrying local sports.”

The Voice of Paso also carries information and entertainment features, all produced locally. These include The Art of Life, The Next Big Thing, Reality Radio, The Bearcat Locker Room and How to Live to Be 347 (Results May Vary).
