Voice of Paso to broadcast Bearcat Vs. Tigers game
–The Paso Robles High School Bearcat football team will kick off the regular 2017 season this Friday night at War Memorial Stadium. PRHS will host the Lemoore Tigers in a game that will be broadcast on the city’s local Internet radio station, the Voice of Paso. Fans can listen by visiting the station’s website and clicking on the “Listen Now” button. They can also access the broadcast via computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones with apps such as TuneIn, Live 365, and on Roku systems. Pre-game starts at 6:30 p.m. Bearcat Football is sponsored on Voice of Paso by KG Communications, Kennedy Fitness Club and Idlers Home. Kennedy Fitness Club will also sponsor a Player of the Week award.
“We had a successful test broadcast during the scrimmage against Nipomo last week,” said station owner and Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin. “It was exciting to have fans text us during the broadcast. We had listeners from as far away as Clovis. Unlike traditional broadcasting, Internet broadcasts are heard world-wide with FM quality sound.”
Although a veteran broadcaster himself, Martin will not be behind the microphone. Jim Wiemann and Bill Stansbury among others will provide the play-by-play coverage as well as sideline interviews and other special features. Martin said tuning into the broadcast is easy.
“I’ve had several people who were concerned they wouldn’t be able to hear the games thank us for keeping the Bearcats on the air and describe how easy it was to connect with the broadcast last week.”
In addition to the weekly football games, Voice of Paso will cover the popular Locker Room livecast from F. McClintocks’ on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. And regular sports interviews on The Wiemann Report at quarter before the hour, Monday-Friday mornings. The Locker Room is supported by Central Coast Tuxedos. The Wiemann Report is sponsored by Cold Stone Creamery.
