Volunteer docents needed at Studios on the Park

–Do you like working in an artistic environment? Do you like interacting with creative people? If the answer is yes, an opportunity awaits you as a Volunteer Docent for Studios on the Park.

Studios is a nonprofit open studio art center, located in the heart of downtown Paso Robles, that houses five separate studios with 13 working artists, five galleries and one fine art gift shop.

Volunteer docents welcome guests and provide an introduction to the mission and essential arts services of the organization. They also assist visitors in the facility’s galleries and Up Front gift shop. These spaces generate funds to support the organization’s sponsorship of educational programs, special events, and overall financial stability.

Through knowledge of the center and excellent customer service, Volunteer Docents enhance visitors’ experience by talking about works on display, selling a variety of gift items, and providing information and printed brochures about programs, exhibits and events. Additional volunteer responsibilities may develop as this opportunity evolves.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to:
• Commit to a three-hour shift once a week
• Work well with the public and coworkers
• Handle sales, including using the Square register
• Wrap packages/bag merchandise
• Multi-task
