VOP broadcasts Pioneer Day parade

Tim Stewart and Dave Lambert man the VOP Livestream camera to broadcast the 89th Annual Pioneer Day Parade from Sweet Lew’s Pizza at 11th and Pine Street.

–The Voice of Paso (VOP), Paso Robles’ local digital radio/video service was on hand to broadcast the 89th Annual Pioneer Day Parade earlier this month. The VOP broadcast crew called the parade from a second-floor perch at Sweet Lew’s Pizza at 11th and Pine Street. Jim Wiemann, Dave Lambert, Tim Stewart and Walt Van Zandt did the honors for the VOP.

“Sweet Lew’s is the best spot in town to see the parade and the activities in the downtown park,” said VOP founder Steve Martin. “The second-floor corner position is destined to be the ‘go-to’ location to view downtown events in the future. We are extremely grateful for the warm welcome, and the hot pizza, they provided.”

It’s “Year Three on the VOP.” The Internet-based broadcast service has been broadcasting local events since 2016 including high school sports, parades and the Paso Pops 4th of July event. The VOP consists of four radio stations (sports, country, oldies, jazz) and a video Livestream channel. The stations operate 24 hours per day and are accessible via smartphone apps or by visiting www.VoiceOfPaso.com.
